The London Chair Collective

Upholstery by Stephanie Leclere

Stephanie started her working life running her own advertising business in Paris, before moving to London in 1994. Over the pas 15 years she has been scouring antique markets and auction houses in search of salvage to restore and re-invent. In 2006, she followed her passion for interior design and crafts, training as an upholster at The Cass, London Metropolitan University (formerly The London College of Furniture). Following completion of her City & Guilds qualification in 2008, Stephanie continued her studies for a further year to master advanced traditional and modern upholstery techniques.

In 2008 Stephanie founded Kiki Voltaire, a boutique upholstery business offering a unique interior collection of both modern pieces (headboard, noticeboard covered in natural wool and linen fabric) and beautifully re-upholtered vintage chairs in modern fabrics.
As well as appearing at industry events such as New Designers in 2009, Stephanie's work regularly features in the press and magazines such as The Guardian, How to Spend it and BBC Homes & Antiques.
